Knock repeatedly, and the door stays shut.
Every server on the internet is probed constantly: programs look for weak spots and try out passwords. The WoA detects such attackers automatically. Anyone who stands out repeatedly is blocked for longer each time, on all servers in the network.
How blocking works
- DetectEvery 30 minutes the system checks which addresses have been looking for weak spots or trying out passwords.
- BlockAnyone who stands out repeatedly is blocked for 7 days. If the address stands out again afterwards, for 30 days, and from the third time permanently.
- ShareThe block does not stay on one server: it is passed on automatically to the firewalls of all servers in the network.
- Never the wrong peopleUsers who have logged in successfully are never blocked. Our support releases false alarms right away.
What goes on even on a small website
A look at the statistics of our own website shows: a large share of all requests does not come from people, but from scanners looking for weak spots and from botnets.
Scanners and login attacks come back again and again. Anyone who attacks repeatedly is blocked for longer each time, on all servers in the network.
Botnets that request individual pages from many changing addresses are detected automatically by the WoA and taken out of the visitor statistics. If one of these addresses stands out repeatedly, it ends up on the block list automatically.

Visitor numbers without cookies
We measure how many people visit our website from the log files of our own server. No cookies are set for this, and no information is stored on or read from visitors’ devices. That is why the statistics need no consent and no cookie banner.
The analysis runs on our server in Germany, without third parties. IP addresses are shortened in the statistics. The details are in our privacy policy.
