Secure remote access: maintenance from afar, your firewall stays closed.
Your system sets up the connection itself, from the inside out, to our secured node in a German data centre. No port forwarding is needed, and you switch access on and off yourself.

How a maintenance session works
Your system calls us, not the other way round. From outside there is no port an attacker could reach.
- Switch access onUsing a switch in Home Assistant, for example only for the duration of the session.
- Connection from insideYour system sets up the encrypted connection to our node, just as a browser opens a web page.
- Maintenance and helpWe carry out updates and help with faults over this connection.
- Switch access offAfterwards you switch remote access off again. Your network remains closed from the outside.
Why this approach is more secure
Port forwarding would be a door into your network that can be reached from outside. We deliberately do not go down that route.
- No open doorNo port forwarding, no fixed IP address and no DynDNS, no changes to your router. All that is needed is an outbound UDP connection on one port, which is usually already allowed.
- Double-securedWireGuard with mutual authentication by key pair and an additional key per connection. Unknown requests get no response at all.
- Data stays in GermanyEncrypted end to end between your system and the maintenance access, operated in a German data centre.
- Only the system we suppliedOnly the smart home system we supplied can be reached, not the rest of your network. We do not need access to your firewall management.
