# Record and scan materials on site

During the job on the work order, you pick items from the catalogue or scan the barcode with your phone camera. Type in the quantity, done. When the job is completed, the material appears as a line on the invoice.

- **Entry:** catalogue or barcode scan
- **Scanner:** your phone camera
- **Units:** piece, hour, flat rate
- **Suppliers:** via OpenMasterData
- **Invoice:** as a line item

## The item catalogue behind it

You maintain items and services centrally and use them everywhere.

- One item database: Items and services with manufacturer, item number and category, plus purchase and sales price.
- Scan with your phone: Your phone camera reads EAN barcodes. You do not need a separate scanner.
- Found quickly: Search by name, EAN, manufacturer or item number.
- Data from the wholesaler: Via OpenMasterData, for example with large electrical wholesalers: type in the item number, and prices, EAN and images are imported.
- Sales price by rule: You maintain mark-up rules such as material times 1.4 centrally in the sales price scheme.
- Suitable units: Piece, hour, flat rate and other units of quantity.

## What happens after recording

The material has an effect beyond the job.

- **On the invoice:** Time, materials and the travel flat fee are on the job. At the end you combine several jobs into one invoice.
- **In the warehouse:** Stock levels are reduced automatically when you invoice, and the cost of materials is booked.
- **When reordering:** When stock is running low, you create order lists for one or more suppliers from the order. For each line, you decide: stock item or directly for this order. More under [ERP & accounting](https://1x1it.de/en/workorderagent/erp/).
