## In operation for years: monitoring illuminated advertising sites

For an outdoor advertising company in Berlin, our system reports lighting faults at advertising sites as soon as they occur.

- **Task:** If the lighting fails after dark, the advertiser's poster cannot be seen. Cameras in public spaces were ruled out for data protection reasons, and not every site has a network connection.
- **Solution:** Each site has a box with its own circuit board and mobile modem. Its sensors measure only the lighting, not the surroundings. If something fails, the central server alerts the responsible person by phone call, SMS or email.
- **Status:** Still in productive use today.
